The Persistent Hatred
Both Religions of the Western World Christianity and Islam feed off of the Jewish Bible. Both religions were expected by their founders to supersede Judaism (The religion of the Jews) and expected Jews to become convinced of the truth of their respective faiths. When Jews refused to see these religions as supplanting theirs these new religions reacted with enmity against Jews and their faith. Especially when followers of these faiths converted to Judaism.
So these religions threatened with death all who would convert to Judaism and those who would convert them.
Not being content with these strictures all sort of calumnies were leveled against Jews. Jews were killed in massacres both in Christian and Moslem countries. To justify killing Jews and stealing their belongings all types of lies were invented from Desecration of the Host (That Jews would steal the wafer and puncture it to draw blood), to Jews using the blood of non-Jews to bake Matzah, to Jews killing innocent non-Jewish children. This was done before the Nazis and has continued afterwards!
For both Christianity and Islam for the Jews to have a Jewish State arisen from the ashes of the Holocaust is an impossibility according to ancient doctrine.
Whether they are aware of it or not the reporters who tell of โgenocideโ by Israelis of people in Gaza or elsewhere are repeating the canards that have become entrenched in the cultures of the Christian and Moslem worldview. Some in the western world have under the influence of the enlightenment freed themselves of Jew-Hate but this devil has been so widespread and pernicious that it creeps into the thoughts and reports of non-Jews without those who spout the ancient hatred being aware of its roots. It should behoove those who speak on the current situation as to Israel trying to defend itself being attacked on every side to weigh whether their thoughts and reports are fair and balanced or has the old canards of the past seeped subconsciously as a devil has mastered their thoughts and words!
